In 1853, the American engineer Hiram Hutchinson bought the rubber vulcanization patent from Charles Goodyear and founded the company which would quickly bear his name. It was in 1890 that Hutchinson began producing bicycle tires. In 1909, the brand won its first competition victory with Léon Georget thanks to the monofilament tire. The greatest cyclists will wear the brand's colors to the top and will string together the greatest victories, especially on the Tour de France. Hutchinson is the only French bicycle tire manufacturer that still manufactures its products in France at its bicycle tire production plant located in Chalette sur Loing, near Montargis, in the south of the Paris region.
