The Groupama-FDJ cycling team is a French professional road cycling team created in 1997. It has had World Tour team status since 2012. Since its creation, it has been financed by the French national lottery company, La Française des games, which was joined in 2018 by the insurance company Groupama. It is run by former runner Marc Madiot. She particularly shone in her first year, winning the World Cup classification thanks to the victories of Frédéric Guesdon in Paris-Roubaix and Davide Rebellin in the San Sebastian Classic and the Zurich Grand Prix. Subsequently, Guesdon in 2006 and Philippe Gilbert in 2008 won Paris-Tours, Arnaud Démare won Milan-San Remo in 2016 and Thibaut Pinot the Tour of Lombardy 2018. On the grand tours, Pinot obtained third place in the Tour de France 2014. The Groupama-FDJ cycling team is undergoing a major overhaul at the dawn of the 2023 season. Aiming to perform at all levels, Marc Madiot's team is abandoning its red, white and blue colors for a new predominantly blue outfit. The team bases its recruitment on youth and decides to promote eight riders from its continental team like the young nuggets Romain Grégoire and Lenny Martinez.
