The Team Sky professional cycling team officially became Team Ineos on May 1, 2019, following a change of sponsor. The team is taken over by the British petrochemical company Ineos as a replacement for British television.
This change of name and identity is accompanied by a new cycling outfit worn for the first time on the occasion of the Tour de Yorkshire. The new colors defended by Chris Froome, Geraint Thomas and Egan Arley Bernal will therefore be red and black.
The Ineos team will become the Team Ineos Grenadier during the Tour de France 2020, because the brand has indeed recently launched in the automobile. In 2022, Gianni Moscon and Rohan Dennis leave the team, while Elia Viviani and several young people are recruited. At the end of January, Tom Pidcock becomes world cyclo-cross champion.
