Bike maintenance steps
1 / Check the condition of the brake and derailleur cables
Derailleur cables and housings require little maintenance, especially if you change them regularly. Check that none of your cables are frayed, they will have to be replaced without delay. Check at the same time if your housings are not damaged or deformed.
2 / For disc brakes, check the condition of the discs and pads
Take a look at the condition of your brake pads and determine their level of wear. Perform a purge if it has not been done for a year. You will need brake fluid, disc brake bleed kit, brake pads
3 / Change the handlebar tape if it's damaged
Remember to change the handlebar tape to ensure a better grip and also to gain in comfort and aesthetics.
4 / Check the condition of your tyres, inner tubes and rim tape
Checking your tire pressure is important because a tire tends to lose pressure over time. Change your tire if it is worn or damaged to avoid losing grip and being too exposed to punctures.
